Pregnancy Care
We provide full pregnancy care in association with our Midwives and obstetric colleagues. If you need advice please contact your doctor or Midwife.(see Attached Staff Clinics tab for contact details)
Contraception and Sexual Health
We offer contraception and sexual health services. You need to consult your doctor regarding this.
Emergency contraception is also freely available and strictly confidential. If you have any worries please call in or phone us. We also offer a drop-in clinic with the doctor, please phone or come in to find out more details.
We offer Chlamydia testing, please ask a doctor or nurse for the test.
Young People
We are EEFO approved and provide a confidential service for young people in sexual and other health issues. You can be sure that anything you discuss with any member of this practice, doctor, nurse or receptionist will stay confidential. Ask at reception on how to obtain a consultation.
Cervical smears
These are performed by the practice nurses and reminders are sent every three to five years.
Children
We know that it can be difficult to tell when your child is seriously ill. We are always happy to see sick children at short notice or to discuss their illness on the telephone with you. Children’s health and development is assessed at intervals by your health visitor and doctor.

Immunisations
We offer all immunisations in the surgery. Baby immunisations can be given by appointment with a nurse.
Flu Clinics
We offer flu clinics in Autumn. Patients who are at risk are sent a letter of invitation to attend either clinic.
Physiotherapy
We work closely with the Physiotherapy Department at the Helston Community Hospital. Please come and see your GP if you need a referral. The number for Helston Community Hospital is 01326 435800, ask for 'physio direct'.
Minor surgery and joint injections
After assessment by the doctor removal of a range of skin lesions and certain joint injections can be performed at the surgery on Wednesday afternoons.
Foreign Travel
Immunisations and travel advice are available from our practice nurses. Try to allow eight weeks for a full course of immunisations. Please collect a travel form at reception and return it at least a week before your first appointment with the practice nurse. Travel vaccinations will need to be paid for before being administered. Patients will be contacted or notified of the amount to pay beforehand in order for patients to make payment when the vaccination is given. Payment should be either in cash or cheque.
Nurses’ Clinics
The nurses run clinics for patients with continuing conditions such as asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease and high blood pressure. They can provide smoking cessation, lifestyle, and weight loss/diet advice.
Healthcare Assistant
Takes bloods, blood pressures, new patient health checks, and carries out various other duties including ECG’s. Appointments can be booked over the telephone or at Reception.
Health checks
These are available by appointment with the practice nurse.
Counsellors
In house counselling is available after referral from your doctor. It is provided by the agency Outlook Soutwest.www.outlooksw.co.uk
